Determine the available pressure at the water meter or other source of supply. 2. Subtract one-half (1/2) pound per square inch pressure (3.4 kPa) for each foot (305 mm) of difference in elevation between such source of supply and the highest water supply outlet in the building or on the premises. 3. Use the "pressure range" group within which this pressure will fall using Table 6-6. 4. Select the "length" column that is equal to or longer than the required length. 5. Follow down the column to a fixture unit value equal to or greater than the total number of fixture units required by the installation. 6. Having located the proper fixture unit value for the required length, sizes of meter and building supply pipe as found in the two left-hand columns shall be applied. No building supply pipe shall be less than three-quarters (3/4) inch (20 mm) in diameter. Each single family residential structure shall be served with a main water supply pipe of not less than one (1) inch I.D. Two (2) hose bibbs served by three-quarter (3/4) I.D. pipe or larger shall be provided; one serving the front yard and one serving the rear yard. SECTION 30: The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and declares that adoption of section 8-402 amending California Plumbing Code Table 6-6 is necessary because Santa Ana is located in a desert plain subject to seasonal hot, Ordinance No. NS-XXXX 75C-26 Page 18 of 48
