<br />PJC:10.15.07 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007-075 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND, <br />THE CHIEF OF POLICE TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA OFFICE <br />OF HOMELANJ) SECURITY FOR THE FY2007 URBAN <br />.. <br />AREAS SECURITV:INITIATIVE FUNDING PROGRAM <br /> <br />BE Fr.gESOLVED B,Y THE<C,TY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOllOWS: - <br /> <br />Section 1, The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby, finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. The United States Department of Homeland Security has developed the <br />Urban Areas Security Initiative funding program (UASI). UASI provides <br />funds to local emergency first responders to enhance security and <br />preparedness to prevent, respond to, and recover from acts of terrorism by <br />providing funding for equipment, planning, training, exercises and technical <br />assistance, <br /> <br />B. In FY 2006 the United States Department of Homeland Security combined <br />the Anaheim UASI with the Santa Ana UASI into a single Urban Area with <br />the City of Santa Ana as the designated Urban Area Core City and provided <br />for shared administrative responsibilities with the City of Anaheim. In FY <br />2007 the City of Santa Ana is the administrative agency, <br /> <br />C. The City of Santa Ana has been awarded funding from the California Office <br />of Homeland Security for the fiscal year 2007 UASI in the amount of <br />$11,072,000,00. <br /> <br />Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby authorizes and <br />directs the City Manager and the Chief of Police or his designee(s) to enter into an <br />agreement with the State of California, Office of Homeland Security for the FY 2007 <br />Urban Areas Security Initiative funding program in the amount of $11 ,072,000,00. <br /> <br />Section 3, The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby authorizes and <br />directs the City Attorney's Office to prepare and authorize the Chief of Police and the <br />Clerk of the Council to enter into reimbursement agreements for equipment, services, or <br />training with the County of Orange or any of the cities located in the designated <br />Anaheim/Santa Ana Urban Area, <br /> <br />Section 4. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby approves an <br />Appropriation Adjustment recognizing the FY 2007 Urban Areas Security Initiative in the <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2007-075 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
