SAFETY INTERDPERABLE COMMUNICATIONS GRANT <br />PROGRAM <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOllOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby, finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. The California Office of Homeland Security has developed the Public <br />Safety Interoperable Communications Grant Program (PSIC). <br /> <br />B. PSIC provides funds to local emergency first responders to assist public <br />safety agencies in the acquisition of, deployment of, or training for the use <br />of interoperable communications systems that utilize reallocated public <br />safety spectrum for radio communications. <br /> <br />C. The City of Santa Ana will be the lead agency responsible for submitting <br />the application for the FY 2007 PSIC Grant. <br /> <br />D. The City of Santa Ana Police Department has worked with the City of <br />Anaheim, the County of Orange, and cities within the Anaheim/Santa Ana <br />Urban Area to determine current capabilities and needs and have <br />established goals and objectives for implementing the PSIC Grant <br />Program. <br /> <br />Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby authorizes and <br />directs the City Manager and the Chief of Police to submit a grant application to the <br />California Office of Homeland Security for the fiscal year 2007 Public Safety <br />Interoperable Communications Grant Program. <br /> <br />Section 3. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby authorizes and <br />directs the City Manager and/OR Chief of Police to execute and submit all documents <br />and take any necessary action, for and on behalf of the City of Santa Ana, a public <br />entity established under the laws of the State of California, for the purpose of obtaining <br />federal financial assistance provided by the federal Department of Homeland Security <br />and subgranted through the State of California. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2007-076 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
