Approve an appropriation adjustment recognizing $75,000 in the Habitat <br />Conservation Fund Program grant revenue account (no. 169-01-5378-3) and <br />appropriating same to the Habitat Conservation Fund Program expenditure <br />account (no. 169-268-6631) for the McFadden Triangle Habitat <br />Restoration project. <br /> <br />2. Approve an appropriation adj ustment recognizing $75,000 in the Park <br />Acquisition and Development revenue account (no. 314-01-5070) and <br />appropriating same to the Park Acquisition and Development expenditure <br />account (no. 314-232-6631) for the McFadden Triangle Habitat <br />Restoration project match. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The City of Santa Ana Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency was <br />successful in receiving a $75,000 grant from the California Department of <br />Parks and Recreation for the McFadden Triangle Habitat Restoration <br />proj ect. The proj ect will recreate the historic ecological conditions <br />that once existed along the Santa Ana River with the development of a <br />trailside rest area. The project entails grading the site and installing <br />native California species plants and trees, an irrigation system, seating <br />areas, interpretive signage, walkways, and decomposed granite trails for <br />greater access from the rest area to the Santa Ana River Bicycle Trail. <br />Park Acquisition and Development funds received in District 4 will be used <br />to satisfy the 50 percent match requirement. <br /> <br />20C-1 <br /> <br />
