<br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br /> <br />DECEMBER 3, 2007 <br /> <br />TITLE: <br />APPROPRIATION ADJUSTMENT ACCEPTING <br />FEDERAL FUNDS FOR FLOWER STREET <br />BRIDGE RAILS (PROJECT NO. 1780) AND <br />FIFTH STREET BRIDGE DECK <br />REHABILITATION (PROJECT NO.1777) <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />o As Recommended <br />o As Amended <br />o Ordinance on 151 Reading <br />o Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />o Implementing Resolution <br />o Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />J RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Approve an appropriation adjustment accepting funds in the amount of <br />$221,794 for the Flower and Fifth Streets bridge projects into the <br />Select Street Construction fund (account no. 59-01-5343), and <br />appropriating the funds to the Select Street Construction Fund <br />(account no. 59-551-6631). <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />On September 14, 2007, City received additional funds in the amount <br />of $160,194 for a total amount of $525,976 in Federal Funds for the <br />Flower Street Bridge barrier rail replacement project. The <br />additional funding is for design and construction. Construction is <br />anticipated to begin in Spring of 2008. <br /> <br />The City also received additional funds in the amount of $61,600 for <br />a total amount of $196,000 in Federal funds for the Fifth Street <br />Bridge deck rehabilitation project. The additional funding is needed <br />to complete the design. The City is waiting to receive authorization <br />to advertise for bids from Caltrans. <br /> <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br /> <br />There is no environmental impact associated with this action. <br /> <br />200-1 <br />
