Sec. 8-2000. Adoption by reference. <br />There is adopted by the city that certain code known as the 2006 International <br />Property Maintenance Code (hereinafter referred to as the "Property Maintenance <br />Code" ), together with subsequent supplements, amendments, or editions, which shall <br />become effective, adopted, and incorporated by reference into this Code on each new <br />official publication date of the International Property Maintenance Code, of which not <br />less than one (1) copy of said Code has been and is now on file in the office of the Clerk <br />of the Council of the City of Santa Ana pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section <br />18942(d)(1) and are made available for public inspection. The said Code is adopted and <br />incorporated as fully as if set forth at length herein as provided for in section 419 of the <br />Charter of the city, except for the changes to the Property Maintenance Code set forth <br />in this chapter of the Santa Ana Municipal Code that specifically amends the Property <br />Maintenance Code. Any previously enacted, unrepealed provision of the Santa Ana <br />Municipal Code that amended apre-2006 Edition of the "Property Maintenance Code" <br />shall also be construed as amending the applicable provision of the 2006 or later Edition <br />of the Property Maintenance Code. The Property Maintenance Code, as thus amended, <br />together with all other provisions of this article, shall be known as the City of Santa Ana <br />Property Maintenance Code. <br />(a) Section 302.8 of the Property Maintenance Code is amended to read as follows: <br />302.8 Motor vehicles. Except as provided for in other regulations, no inoperative or <br />unlicensed motor vehicle shall be parked, kept or stored on any premises, unless within an <br />enclosed structure, and no vehicle shall at any time be in a state of major disassembly, <br />disrepair, or in the process of being stripped or dismantled. Painting of vehicles is prohibited <br />unless conducted inside an approved spray booth. Occupancy of any motor vehicle for the <br />purpose of living, sleeping, eating or cooking shall only occur within an approved trailer park. <br />Exception: A vehicle of any type is permitted to undergo major overhaul, including body <br />work, provided that such work is performed inside a structure or similarly enclosed area <br />designed and approved for such purposes. When auto repairs or maintenance occur on <br />a property used for residential occupancy, only vehicles registered to the premises may <br />undergo such repairs or maintenance. <br />(b) Section 304.3 of the Property Maintenance Code is amended to read as follows: <br />[F] 304.3 Premises identification. Buildings shall have approved address numbers placed <br />in a position to be plainly legible and visible from the street or road fronting the property. <br />These numbers shall contrast with their background. Numbers shall be a minimum of 4 <br />inches (102 mm). <br />(c) Section 304.14 of the Property Maintenance Code is amended to read as follows: <br />Ordinance No. NS-XXXX <br />11 B-19 Page 19 of 37 <br />
