extend the time for action by the applicant for a period not exceeding one hundred and eighty (180) days upon request by the applicant showing that circumstances beyond the control of the applicant have prevented action from being taken. No application shall be extended more than once. In order to renew action on an application after expiration, the applicant shall resubmit plans and pay a new plan review fee. (b) Section 106.3 is amended to read as follows: Sec. 106.3 Examination of documents. The building official shall examine or cause to be examined the accompanying construction documents and shall ascertain by such examinations whether the construction indicated and described is in accordance with the requirements of this code and other pertinent laws or ordinances. When submittal documents are required by section 106.1, a plan review fee shall be paid at the time of submitting the submittal documents for plan review. Said plan review fees are separate fees from the permit fees specified in the section 108.2 and are in addition to the permit fees. Said plan review fee shall be set forth in the City Council Fee Resolution. Appendix I Appendix J SECTION 4: That section 8-94 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby amended such that it reads as follows: Sec. 8-94. Permits required (Appendix Chapter 1, Section 105). Section 105.1 of Appendix Chapter 1 of the building code is amended to read as follows: 105.1 Permits required. Except as specified in Section 105.2 of this section, no building or structure regulated by this code shall be erected, constructed, enlarged, altered, repaired, moved, improved, removed, converted, demolished or maintained unless a separate permit for each building or structure has first been obtained from the building official.
