NO. 05-084) <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on ls` Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2°~ Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing <br />For <br />~~~~ <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Renew the contract with Players Choice for the purchase of trophies, <br />plaques and awards for a one-year period in an annual amount not to exceed <br />$60,000. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency's sports and youth <br />guidance programs require trophies, medals, and plaque awards to recognize <br />participants for their achievements in soccer, basketball, baseball, flag <br />football, track and field, swimming, and Project P.R.I.D.E. In addition, <br />various other agencies require plaque awards to recognize outstanding <br />employees and citizens of the community. The contract for trophies, <br />plaques, and awards is designed to provide quality products at significant <br />savings based on quantity pricing. <br />On November 7, 2005, the City Council awarded a contract to <br />a Santa Ana vendor, for a two-year period, with provisio <br />year renewals. Players Choice has performed satisfactorily <br />contract period, and staff recommends the first renewal of <br />Players Choice, <br />n for three one- <br />during the past <br />the contract. <br />22A-1 <br />
