FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br />Contact: ??? <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />INTENTION TO CHANGE <br />BOUNDARY LINES OF COUNCIL WARDS <br />The City of Santa Ana is proposing the change the City's Ward boundaries and has set- <br />up a website to provide information for member of our community to comment on the <br />proposed changes. A public hearing has been set for December 5, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in <br />the Council Chamber, 22 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana in which testimony will be <br />received and considered by the City Council. <br />Santa Ana Charter Section 101.2 requires that Ward boundaries have equal population <br />based on the federal decennial census. The data reviewed for this purpose was <br />generated by the United States Census Bureau as a result of the 2010 Census_ <br />Historically, the City Council has made a decision to change the boundaries after <br />Census data is received and population changes were significant by Ward. <br />The following information can be found on the City's website at www.santa-ana.org: <br />• Santa Ana's overall population change from 2000 to 2010 with demographics <br />data. <br />• Current and proposed demographics by Council Ward. <br />• Map of current and proposed neighborhood associations by Ward. <br />The City's information on the website will serve as a resource to the community during <br />the next several weeks as the Santa Ana City Council considers Ward re -boundary. <br />Through this website, residents may access maps and information, and provide <br />comments for council consideration. <br />
