programs and projects implemented for the benefit of FEZ <br />residents. <br />Additionally, Jon's contributions go far beyond his proximal <br />community -Jon is also very active overseas. Jon assisted in <br />building an orphanage in Hong Kong in 1975, where he spent <br />a year following college. His missionary work continues <br />today, and as president of the non-profit foundation, ''Caring <br />for China", Jan recruits volunteers to work in several <br />orphanages for abandoned children in China. Representing <br />the United States on an intematianal Board of Directors, he <br />helps oversee the work of caring for over 154 babies and <br />preparing them for international adoptions. <br />Caring For China has another division that recruits and sends <br />volunteer teachers from all over the wand to teach English in <br />China's colleges and universities. Jon's friendship with one <br />university in Central China led to an ongoing relationship with <br />our local Vanguard University that has sent a team of English <br />teachers to China every summer for the past three years, <br />While board responsibilities, community activities and <br />missionary work are time-intensive, Jon remains devoted to <br />FSSI and has an unwavering commitment to the basic values <br />of good business relationships with his vendors, customers <br />and empbyees. He is honorable in his business dealings, <br />treats his employees with respect, and his customers know <br />that they can count on Jan and FSSI to perform with integrity. <br />In fact, Jon was recognized far his allegiance to ethical <br />business practices when he was presented with the "Ethics in <br />America Award 2000" by Chapman University`s School of <br />Business & Economics. His peers recognized Jon as a <br />recipient of the "Telestrategies Billing World 2001 <br />Excellence Award" for atfering the highest quality of <br />production and giving service that is unique to the demands of <br />each customer. And in 2002, Jon was awarded the "Small <br />Business Person of the Year Award" for his outstanding <br />service at FSSI. <br />Most recently, Jon's participation on the WIB Oversight and <br />Data Subcommittee resulted in a widely recognized R01 <br />study that showed that the ualue of the services provided by <br />the Santa Ana Onestop Work Center far outweighed the <br />government funds invested.
