DISCUSSION Since 2005, Phoenix Group Information Systems has provided an automated parking citation processing system for the Police Department. The Police Department exclusively utilizes a "hard copy" system for issuing and processing parking citations and Phoenix Group Information Systems streamlines and expedites the issuance and processing of parking citations. They also handle all refunds related to parking penalties. Staff's evaluation has determined that Phoenix Group Information Systems has performed satisfactorily and recommends renewing the agreement for another one-year term in an amount not to exceed $275,000. The new agreement extending their services through the end of 2008 will guarantee stability within the processing, hearing, and collection procedures for the City's parking citations. During the course of this agreement, the Police Department will work with the Purchasing Division and issue a Request for Proposal to provide for a parking citation processing system at the conclusion of this agreement. 25D-1
