REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />FEBRUARY 4, 2008 <br />TITLE: <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE PROPOSITION 42 - <br />CITY AID PROGRAM AGREEMENT <br />C <br />v / <br />~~ <br />MENDED <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 15` Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2rd Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize the City Manager and the Clerk of the Council to execute the <br />attached agreement with County of Orange to receive Proposition 42 City <br />Aid Program funds for FY 2008/2009. <br />DISCUSSION <br />On July 31, 2007, the <br />Resolution No, 07-109, <br />Proposition 42 funds with <br />$10 million for the City <br />The CAP has been formL <br />additional funds for city <br />Orange County Board of Supervisors adopted <br />allowing for the sharing of the County's <br />Orange County cities and approved allocation of <br />Aid Program (CAP) for Fiscal Year (FY) 08/09. <br />elated to provide Orange County cities with <br />roadway maintenance projects. <br />The grant funding will provide Santa Ana the opportunity to receive <br />$1,186,006 in FY 08/09 based on the population percentage of the County's <br />CAP program. The County's CAP grant funds are in addition to the Prop. 42 <br />programmed funds that the City is expected to receive in FY 08/09 from <br />the State. The Public Works Agency has developed a list of eligible <br />projects for the funding.
