2. The paramedic service to be provided by Santa <br />Ana pursuant to this Agreement shall be provided by Santa <br />Ana's Paramedic/Engine Company located at 950 West MacArthur <br />Street, Santa Ana. <br />3. Santa Ana shall provide the aforementioned <br />paramedic service. to that area of Costa Mesa lying north of <br />the San Diego Freeway and east of Fairview Boulevard, <br />otherwise known as "Costa Mesa Districts 27,47,67 and 87," <br />hereinafter referred to as the "service area." <br />4. Santa Ana Fire Department engine companies or <br />other fire apparatus shall not be required to accompany a <br />paramedic unit responding into the service area pursuant to <br />this agreement. <br />5. If the paramedic unit responding pursuant to <br />this agreement determines to accompany patients to a medical <br />facility, Costa Mesa agrees to use its best efforts to <br />facilitate the paramedic unit's return to its engine company <br />by providing return transportation for said paramedics if <br />necessary. <br />6. In the event that the paramedic unit at 950 <br />`vilest MacArthur Street is not available for any reason to <br />respond pursuant to this agreement, Santa Ana shall not be' <br />obligated to provide paramedic service by any other <br />paramedic unit, and Costa Mesa agrees to assume all <br />responsiblity for such response. <br />7. For purposes of liaison and the administration <br />of this agreement, the Fire Chief's of each city are <br />designated as the representatives of the parties to this <br />agreement, and they shall be jointly responsible for the <br />administration of this agreement. This responsibility may <br />be delegated to agents or employees within the respective <br />fire departments of the cities, provided that each party <br />shall furnish the other in writing the names and rank of <br />each such representative. <br />rM <br />
