FOR INMATE FOOD SERVICES <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Police Department's Jail Services fund for <br />no. 11-349-6291), and various departmental <br />accounts (object code 6391) for the catering <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 15f Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2"d Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize the City Manager and the Clerk of the Council to execute the <br />attached amendment to the agreement with Aramark Correctional Services, <br />Inc. to provide additional catering and inmate food services in an amount <br />not to exceed $70,000, subject to non-substantive changes approved by the <br />City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />On January 16, 2007, Council approved a three-year agreement with two, one- <br />year renewal options with Aramark Correctional Services, Inc. to provide <br />inmate food services at the Santa Ana Jail. <br />Council recently approved a second year for the food service and this <br />amendment is needed to cover the remaining invoices from the first year <br />term. The shortage is a result of an increased amount of catering services <br />provided at City events and increased inmate population.
