REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />MARCH 3, 2008 <br />TITLE: <br />VARIANCE NO. 2007-09 AND MINOR <br />EXCEPTION NO. 2007-04 TO ALLOW A <br />REDUCTION IN REQUIRED LANDSCAPING AND <br />PARKING FOR A NEW RETAIL BUILDING AT <br />2230 NORTH TUSTIN AVENUE - GAETANO <br />BELCORE, APPLICANT <br />h <br />C <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 1 S` Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2"d Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Receive and file the staff report approving Variance No. 2007-09 as <br />conditioned and Minor Exception No. 2007-04 as conditioned. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION ACTION <br />On January 28, 2008, the Planning Commission adopted a resolution <br />approving Variance No. 2007-09 as conditioned and Minor Exception No. <br />2007-04 as conditioned by a vote of 6:0 (Betancourt absent) to allow a <br />reduction in required landscaping and parking for a new retail building <br />at 2230 North Tustin Avenue in the Arterial Commercial (C5) zoning <br />district. The Planning Commission added a condition that requires the <br />reinforcement of the lower three feet of the new block wall to prevent <br />its collapse if impacted by a vehicle or other unforeseeable event <br />(Exhibit A). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this action. <br />a M.
