RESOLUTION NO. 2008-XXX <br />Iss02/26/08 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A <br />FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY <br />(FEMA) PRE-DISASTER MITIGATION GRANT <br />AGREEMENT FOR SEISMIC MITIGATION PROJECTS <br />FOR ST. JOSEPH HOSPITAL OF ORANGE - MAIN <br />BUILDING AND EAST/WEST WING <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br />A. The City of Santa Ana, on behalf of St. Joseph of Orange ,submitted a <br />Pre-Disaster Mitigation 2007 Grant Application to help fund seismic <br />strengthening mitigation projects planned for the Hospital's Main Building <br />(PDM 07, OES #PJ06, FEMA #0003) and the Hospital's East/West wing <br />(PDM 07, OES #PJ07, FEMA #0002). <br />B. The City of Santa Ana Subgrant applications have been approved by the <br />Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to provide long term, <br />cost-effective and environmentally sound reduction of hazard vulnerability. <br />Section 2. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby authorizes and <br />directs the City Manager or his designated representative, to execute and submit all <br />documents and take any actions necessary, for and on behalf of the City of Santa Ana, <br />a public entity established under the laws of the State of California, for the purpose of <br />obtaining certain federal financial assistance under P.L. 93-288 as amended by the <br />Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act of 1988, and/or state <br />financial assistance under the California Disaster Assistance Act. <br />Section 3. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby authorizes the <br />City Manager or his designated representative, to provide to the State Office of <br />Emergency Services for all matters pertaining to such state disaster assistance, the <br />required assurances and agreements. <br />Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by <br />the City Council, and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting <br />this Resolution. <br />Resolution No. 2007-XXX <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
