<br />020408155 <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2008-015 <br /> <br />'- <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SANTA ANA APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR <br />LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION FUNDS TO <br />DEVELOP THE PICNIC AREA AT SANTIAGO PARK <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines <br />and declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. Congress, under Public Law 88-578, has authorized the establishment of <br />a federal Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant-In-Aid program, <br />providing Matching funds to the State of California and its political <br />subdivisions for acquiring lands and developing facilities for public outdoor <br />recreation purposes; and <br /> <br />'- <br /> <br />B. The California Department of Parks and Recreation is responsible for <br />administration of the program in the State, setting up necessary rules and <br />procedures governing Applications by local agencies under the program; <br />and <br /> <br />C. Said adopted procedures established by the State Department of Parks <br />and Recreation require the City of Santa Ana to certify by resolution the <br />approval of application(s) and the availability of eligible matching funds <br />prior to submission of said application(s) to the State; and <br /> <br />D. The development of the picnic area at Santiago Park (Project) is <br />consistent with the most recent California Outdoor Recreation Plan <br />(CORP); and <br /> <br />E. The Project is compatible with the land use plans of those jurisdictions <br />immediately surrounding the Project. <br /> <br />Section 2. The City Council approves the submittal of an application for <br />$150,000 in Land and Water Conservation Fund assistance to develop the picnic area <br />at Santiago Park; and <br /> <br />C\ <br />\) <br />~ <br />\) <br />r 1 <br /> <br />'t 0 <br /> <br />Section 3. The City Council certifies that the City has matching funds from the I <br />Park Acquisition and Development Fund and can finance 100 percent of the Project, Uf \J-o <br />half of which will be reimbursed; and <br /> <br />Section 4.
