Exhibit B

CITY OF SANA ANA
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT

Scope of Work-Services

Accomplishment Goal

I, Description of Work -
The Dr. Willella Howe-Waffle House serves multiple purposes. We host regular open
houses for the public as well as special tours by appointment. We've had some school
groups through the house - though not many since we're not as kid-friendly as the
Centennial Museum is. At our open houses, we often have high school and college
students visit the House for research on "how life was then."

The carriage barn (in the back yard) has just been reopened for tours (as part of our
regular open houses and events). The barn has an original horse buggy and some
early artifacts of that genre.

We've participated as an open location for neighborhood home tours. (The most recent
was the Historic French Park Neighborhood home tour in 12/07.) We also usually host
a "thank you" open house for the community once a year where we decorate the House
and offer complimentary refreshments.

The House is sometimes used for small events and meetings by community groups.
However, we don't have spacious meeting rooms and such so that sort of use has been
limited.

The House is actually a house museum which is set up with period furniture and
equipment to show Dr. Howe-Waffle's home and office as it would be back at the turn of
the 19th century. (Only a few belonged to her - due to the other owners of the house
prior to our moving and restoring the building. The rest of the furnishings are donated
and reflect the period.) At our open houses, we have guided tours from experienced
docents who will speak to the house's history, the life of Dr. Howe-Waffle, and early
Santa Ana.

In addition, the House is the Santa Ana Historical Preservation Society's official
headquarters and we store our historical collection of early Santa Ana photos, artifacts,
and memorabilia. We're in process of creating a new "Santa Ana Room" with various
display cabinets and such to show off some SA materials from our collection and those
on loan from the community. We will be promoting this once the room is nearing
completion.

EXHIBIT 1

17
