<br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br /> <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />APRIL 7, 2008 <br />TITLE: <br />APPROPRIATION ADJUSTMENT - WORKFORCE <br />INVESTMENT ACT ADDITIONAL FUNDS <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />o As Recommended <br />o As Amended <br />o Ordinance on 151 Reading <br />o Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />o Implementing Resolution <br />o Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />C~ <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />CI MANAGER <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Approve an Appropriation Adj ustment recognizing additional revenues of <br />$1,620 in Title I 15% Pilot Special Project funds, $1,445 in Title I <br />Adult funds, and $2,050 in Title I Dislocated Workers funds from the <br />State of California for Workforce Investment Act programs. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The State of California Workforce Investment Board (CWIB) selected the <br />Santa Ana Workforce Investment Board (WIB) to hold a forum on labor <br />market data collection for the Orange County region. The forum was held <br />at the Island Hotel in Newport Beach. The CWIB is reimbursing the WIB <br />$1,620 for the rental of the hotel meeting space as well as for any of <br />the costs associated with conducting the forum. Additionally, the State <br />has determined that the WIB is eligible to receive a reallocation of <br />Adult and Dislocated Worker funds. The Title I Adult program is <br />increased by $1,445 and the Dislocated Worker program is being increased <br />by $2,050. These funds will be used for operations, supportive services <br />or training. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br /> <br />Upon approval of the appropriation adjustment, funds will be available in <br />the WIA CWIB Reimbursement account (account no. 123-189-6391), the WIA <br />Adult 07-08 account (account no. 123-207-6933) and the WIA Dislocated <br />Worker 07-08 account (account no. 123-208-6933). <br /> <br /> <br />10 <br /> <br />tephen G.
