NO. 07-022) <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />D As Recommended <br />D As Amended <br />o Ordinance on 1 st Reading <br />o Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />o Implementing Resolution <br />o Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />TY MANAGER <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Amend the contract with Motorola in the amount of $26,998, for an annual <br />amount not to exceed $258,369.52. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The County of Orange established operational communication requirements, <br />referred to as the 800 MHz Countywide Coordinated Communications System, to <br />provide effective and reliable radio communication for routine operations <br />of participating law enforcement, fire services, EMS and disaster <br />preparedness agencies, as well as interagency communications during <br />disaster operations. Throughout the year, the Santa Ana Police and Fire <br />Departments require purchases of radios and mobile data computer systems <br />that are compatible with this system. <br /> <br />This amendment will provide for ten Motorola modems to update existing <br />communication equipment in five police vehicles utilized by gang <br />suppression detectives assigned to the Street Terrorism Offender Program <br />(STOP II).
