The maintenance program, designed to keep the trees <br />healthy, includes a Class 1 fine pruning of half the trees each year. A <br />Certified Arborist supervises all pruning. <br /> <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on December 6, 2007, and bids were <br />solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bids received is as <br />follows: <br /> <br />23 Invitations For Bid mailed <br />5 Invitations For Bid mailed to Santa Ana vendors <br />9 Bids received <br />1 Bid received from a Santa Ana vendor <br /> <br />Bids were received, opened on January 16, 2008, and evaluated (Exhibit 1). <br />The bid received from Tree Elements, Inc., is responsive to the <br />specification and meets the City's requirements. <br /> <br />228-1 <br />
