Award a contract to Dominguez General Engineering, Inc., the lowest <br />responsible bidder, in accordance with unit bid prices in the <br />estimated amount of $1,795,000 for construction of the Artesia Pilar <br />Neighborhood Water Main Replacement. <br /> <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $2,243,700. <br /> <br />DISCOSSION <br /> <br />This project provides for the replacement of deteriorated and undersized <br />water pipes in the Artesia Pilar Neighborhood (Exhibit 1). The <br />improvements include installation of new water mains, fire hydrants, main <br />gate valves, and water services. Once completed, breaks and leaks <br />associated with the older and deteriorated water mains will be <br />eliminated. In addition, water service capacity and fire protection to <br />the areas served by these new water mains will be enhanced. <br /> <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on February 13, and 15, 2008, and <br />bids were opened on March 6, 2008.
