The share of the fund
that the City is allocated is determined by the State Controller's
Office. In order to receive the funds, the City must approve a plan for
use of the amount of funds available in 2007-08 for the city.

The grant funding will provide Santa Ana to receive a total estimated
allocation amount of $11.4 million. The City's allocation in FY 07/08 is
$5,684,648 based on the population percentage of the County's total.
Eligible projects include maintenance, improvements on City streets and
roads, and traffic reduction improvements. The Public Works Agency has
developed a plan with a list of eligible proj ects for this funding. A
number of local and arterial streets have been selected as part of the
plan. The selected projects are high priority and include pavement
rehabilitation and replacement of damaged curb, gutter and sidewalk.

558-1
