Jwf 04/22/08 RESOLUTION NO. 2008-025 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA RELATING TO THE COMPENSATION FOR THE CLERK OF THE COUNCil BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: A. On January 16, 2000, the City Council appointed Patricia Healy to the position of Clerk of the Council, an unrepresented Executive Management position, at salary rate range EM-28. B. On April 7, 2003, the City Council increased the salary of the Clerk of the Council by 2.5% within the EM-28 salary range. C. On March 21, 2005, the City Council amended the compensation for the Clerk of the Council to provide for a contribution to her deferred compensation account. D. The City Council desires to provide the Clerk of the Council with a step increase within the EM-28 salary range and to increase the contribution to the Clerk's deferred compensation account. Section 2. Effective May 1, 2008, the salary for the Clerk of the Council shall be at the salary step EM28-11. Section 3. Commencing with calendar year 2008, as additional compensation deducted from her salary pursuant to Government Code Section 53214, the Officer shall receive deferred compensation in the maximum annual amount permitted pursuant to Section 457 of the Internal Revenue Code at the time of adoption of this resolution, excluding any permitted catch up contribution. Section 4. Except as expressly provided herein, all other compensation provisions applicable to the Clerk of the Council shall continue in full force and effect. Section 5. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council, and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and certify the vote adopting this Resolution.
