REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />MAY 05, 2008 <br />TITLE: <br />QUARTERLY REPORT OF CONTRACTS <br />ENTERED INTO BY THE CITY <br />MANAGER <br />~t-~'.~.__- <br />~r` ITY ANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 15~ Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Receive and file the Quarterly Report of Contracts entered into between <br />January 1 and March 31, 2008, valued at $25,000 and less. <br />DISCUSSION <br />On November 7 2006 the voters approved a Charter Amendment increasing the <br />authority of the City Manager to enter into contracts and agreements up to <br />a value of $25,000. Section 421 of the Charter requires the City Manager <br />to report to the City Council quarterly on the contracts entered into under <br />his authority for informational purposes. The report is required to <br />include the names of contractors and the amounts of each contract. <br />Exhibit A is a listing of all purchase, orders, agreements and change <br />notices entered into between January 1 and March 31, 2008 valued at amounts <br />of $500 and $25,000. Unless included under a blanket contract, the City as <br />a general rule does not purchase goods or services valued at under $500 <br />through either a purchase order or an agreement.
