REQUEST FOR
COUNCIL ACTION
CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE:
CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY:
MAY 5, 2008
TITLE:
BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS ATTENDANCE
REPORT - OCTOBER, 2007 THROUGH
MARCH, 2008
APPROVED
^ As Recommended
^ As Amended
^ Ordinance orr 1S` Reading
^ Ordinance on 2"d Reading
^ Implementing Resolution
^ Set Public Hearing
For
CITY MANAGER
RECOMMENDED ACTION
CONTINUED TO
FILE NUMBER
Receive and File Boards and Commissions Biannual Attendance Report for the
period October, 2007 - March, 2008.
11T Gri7SSTF7N
The Boards and Commissions Attendance Report is prepared biannually to keep
the Council informed relative to member attendance at Board or Commission
meetings.
Pursuant to Council policy, the City Council may remove board or commission
members who incur four unexcused absences within a six-month reporting
period. Additionally, City Charter Section 901, which was amended by the
voters in November, 2006, provides that two consecutive unexcused absences
would result in the vacation of a board or commission position.
Examination of the attendance report for the period October, 2007 - March,
2008 revealed that one member of the Early Prevention and Intervention
Commission exceeded the number of allowable unexcused absences; this member
has subsequently resigned her position on the commission.
At this time, the only action required by the Council is to receive and file
this report.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact associated with this action.
i
Patricia E. Healy, Clerk of the Co ncil
13C-1
