The City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines
and declares as follows:

A. Santa Ana Unified School District (District) is the largest public school
system in Orange County and seventh largest in the State of California.

B. The District has an immediate need to replace temporary classroom
buildings with permanent buildings, provide technology and other
educational infrastructure and upgrade facilities at every District school.

C. The quality of the District's infrastructure must be upgraded in order to
provide the District's 55,000 students with a quality learning environment.

D. The District has placed Measure G on the June 3, 2008 California
Statewide Primary Election ballot authorizing $200 million for school
improvements.

E. Passage of Measure G would allow the District to be eligible to receive an
additional $120 million in state-matching funds to replace, modernize, and
upgrade 56 classroom facilities throughout the District.

F. The District is an intrinsic member of the Santa Ana community and
contributes to the quality of life in Santa Ana by educating our youth to
become successful members and leaders of our community.

Section 2. The City of Santa Ana expresses its support for the Santa Ana
Unified School District's Measure G in its effort to secure funding to modernize the
District's facilities and technology.

Section 3. A copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded by the Clerk of the
Council to the Santa Ana Unified School District Board of Trustees.

Section 4.
