Renew the contract with DMS Janitorial for janitorial service at <br />Recreation and Library facilities, for a one-year period in an <br />amount not to exceed $168,075. <br />2. Award contracts for janitorial temporary personnel for City Hall <br />and the Corporate Yard for a two-year period, with provision for <br />two one-year renewals, in the annual aggregate amount not to <br />exceed $170,000 with the following vendors: <br />VENDOR: LOCATION: <br />PeopleKeepers LLC Redondo Beach <br />Venturi Staffing Partners Santa Ana <br />DISCUSSION <br />The City uses a combination of methods to provide janitorial services for <br />City buildings and park restrooms, including City staff, contractual <br />custodial firms and temporary personnel companies. On May 8, 2008, the City <br />Council approved a contract for janitorial services for city park <br />restrooms. On May 3, 2004, the City Council awarded a contract to DMS <br />Janitorial for a two-year period with provision for three one-year renewals <br />for cleaning the Central library, the Newhope branch library, and the <br />McFadden learning center, as well as the 12 recreation centers and the <br />Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency administrative offices. <br />The vendor has performed satisfactorily during the past contract period and <br />has agreed to renew the contract with a 5$ price increase to offset <br />increased labor and supply costs. Staff verified the current cost is <br />consistent with the market and DMS continues to offer a competitive price <br />for this service. Staff recommends the final renewal of the contract. <br />22A-1 <br />
