<br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br /> <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br /> <br />JULY 7, 2008 <br />TITLE: <br />AGREEMENT FOR HAZARDOUS MATERIAL <br />EMERGENCY RESPONSE SERVICES <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />o As Recommended <br />o As Amended <br />o Ordinance on 1 sl Reading <br />o Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />----.bI Implementing Resolution <br />o Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />a <br /> <br />i2d/1Z <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute the <br />attached agreement with AI1Corp Partners Acquisition d/b/a AMX <br />Environmental Evolution, Ltd., subject to non-substantive changes <br />approved by the City Manager and City Attorney, for hazardous materials <br />emergency response services for the City of Santa Ana. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />In July 2007 the City began using AMX Environmental Evolution, for <br />hazardous materials emergency response services for oil spills, <br />engineering, consulting and hazardous material remediation services. <br />These services are used by various City Agencies, including Police, Fire <br />and Public Works. In FY 2007/08 City Agencies spent $25,000 for <br />hazardous material clean-up and it is anticipated that in FY 2008/09 <br />$35,000 will be needed. Because of the Fire Department's expertise in <br />hazardous material remediation, they have taken the "lead" on this <br />agreement. <br /> <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br /> <br />Funds are available in various City Agencies budgets, Other Contractual <br />Services account (account no.
