Approve an appropriation adjustment accepting Federal funds in the amount of $334,417 into the Select Street Construction fund (account no. 59-01-5344) and appropriating funds to the Select Street Construction fund (account no. 59-551-6631) for the Bristol Street Widening project between Third & Pine Streets. 2. Award a contract to Sequel Contractors, Inc., the lowest responsible bidder, in accordance with unit bid prices in the estimated amount of $4,522,071 for construction of Bristol Street Widening between Pine and Third Streets. 3. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost of $5,652,000. DISCUSSION Bristol Street is a north-south corridor designated as a major arterial highway in the City's Circulation Element of the General Plan. The widening of Bristol Street between Warner Avenue and Memory Lane has been a long-term project that will be constructed in several phases. This widening project includes the segment between Pine and Third Streets (Exhibit 1). Overhead utility lines were placed underground in 2007 in accordance with the Bristol Street Specific Plan adopted by the City Council in 1993. All right-of-way has been secured for the segment. Under this project, Bristol Street will be widened from two lanes to three lanes in each direction. The widening will also provide dual left turn lanes, dedicated right turn lanes and far-side bus turnouts in both the northbound and southbound directions. Finally, the project will also include enhanced parkway landscaping and sound walls adjacent to the 23B-1 RECOMMENDED ACTION
