Background & Experience <br />our relevant experience in traffic and transportation engineering services include: <br />Coordinating funding, design and <br />approval activities with OCTA, Caltrans <br />etc.; <br />• Performing traffic signal design; <br />Preparing signing and striping plans; <br />Designing traffic control plans; <br />Designing CCTV, VMS, trailblazer signs, <br />and other ITS equipment; <br />• Evaluating engineering costs and <br />benefits; <br />Evaluating of traffic signal system needs; <br />Evaluating of traffic operations; <br />Geometric design of streets and <br />associated highway engineering; <br />Conducting utility research and <br />coordinating project activities with utilities; <br />• Preparing Plans, Specifications and <br />Engineering Estimates; <br />• Performing level of service (LOS) analysis; <br />• Prepare data for compliance with CMP; <br />• Performing signal timing /coordination <br />analysis; <br />• Performing traffic impact studies for <br />developments; <br />• Review environmental and traffic impact <br />studies; <br />• Conducting parking studies; <br />• Evaluating school area circulation, parking <br />and signing studies; <br />• Providing municipal traffic engineering <br />services; <br />• Presenting at City Council and Traffic & <br />Transportation Commission meetings. <br />2.1 Transportation Planning Experience <br />Transportation planning addresses the role of the transportation system in providing for access and <br />mobility within the community in a way that is consistent with community values and supportive of quality <br />of life goals. Transportation planning requires not only experience and expertise to effectively apply <br />technical analysis tools, but also the ability to interact and communicate with communities to understand <br />goals and objectives, define viable options and alternatives, and facilitate consensus towards a solution. <br />• Travel Demand Modeling — ADVANTEC staff is experienced in the development and application <br />of travel demand models, using most of the commonly available travel demand modeling <br />software (TRANPLAN, MINUTP, TP +NIPER, EMME /2, TRANSCAD, TMODEL and QRS). <br />Experience includes application of regional models, extraction and refinement of subarea models <br />(window /focus techniques) and development of small area models. ADVANTEC staff will assist <br />clients to identify a process to obtain complete and reliable information within required budgets <br />and schedules, including land use and trip generation analysis, trip table development, <br />assignment options, validation procedures, and analysis and refinement of model output. <br />• Corridor Planning — ADVANTEC staff has successfully completed corridor studies throughout <br />Southern California and the western United States. We are experienced in the application of <br />federal, state and regional guidelines for major investment studies, and corridor feasibility and <br />improvement studies.
