<br />LssO 1/06/05 <br /> <br />Iss072208 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008- <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER AND CHIEF OF POLICE TO EXECUTE A <br />GRANT AWARD AGREEMENT WITH THE <br />CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA <br />ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Council of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and <br />declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. The Santa Ana Police Department has been selected to receive a <br />grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, DUI Enforcement <br />and Awareness Program, in the amount of $216,583.00. <br /> <br />B. Grant funding will allow the Police Department to fund programs to <br />reduce the number of alcohol involved crashes, including <br />conducting DUI/Driver's License checkpoints and Dui saturation <br />patrols, and concentrating on repeat DUI offenders on probation <br />who continue to drive after having their license suspended or <br />revoked. <br /> <br />Section 2. The City Council authorizes the City Manager and the Chief of <br />Police, or their designee(s), to execute a grant award agreement with the <br />California Office of Traffic Safety in the amount of $216,583.00. <br /> <br />Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its <br />adoption by the City Council, and the Clerk of the Council shall attest to and <br />certify the vote adopting this Resolution. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this <br /> <br />day of <br /> <br />,2008. <br /> <br />Miguel A.
