<br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br /> <br /> <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />AUGUST 18, 2008 <br /> <br />TITLE: <br />AGREEMENTS FOR ON-CALL ENGINEERING <br />AND LANDSCAPING SERVICES <br /> <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />o As Recommended <br />o As Amended <br />o Ordinance on 1st Reading <br />o Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />o Implementing Resolution <br />o Set Public Hearing For <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />I / <br /> <br />/ ' <br />/ / <br />C/// RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />.'j <br />. /i <br />~J//J(Z4 <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER <br /> <br />CONTINUED TO <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />FILE NUMBER <br /> <br />Authorize the City Manager and the Clerk of the Council to execute the <br />attached agreements with DMJM Harris, URS, Penco Engineering and Psomas, <br />subject to non-substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City <br />Attorney, to provide engineering, architectural and landscaping services <br />for the not to exceed amount of $200,000 for each firm. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />staff has solicited proposals for engineering and landscaping services. <br />These services are required to augment City staff to complete the design <br />of street rehabilitation, park and facility improvement projects in a <br />timely manner. <br /> <br />Six qualified firms were contacted and four firms submitted proposals. <br />These proposals were reviewed by a review committee comprised of personnel <br />from City Agencies. <br /> <br />The ratings for all four firms are as follows: <br /> <br />FIRM <br /> <br />RATING <br /> <br />1. DMJM Harris <br />2. URS <br />3. Penco Engineering <br />4. Psomas <br /> <br />88 <br />84 <br />80 <br />75 <br /> <br />The fee rate schedules for these firms were compared. The rates are <br />consistent, reasonable and in line with staff's estimate. Because of the <br />experience of key personnel, client satisfaction and competitive rates, it <br />is recommended that the firms of DMJM Harris, URS, Penco Engineering and <br />Psomas be retained for the required services. <br /> <br />25F-1 <br />
