These medical services are <br />required and governed by State law, under the California Department of <br />Corrections Title 15 requirements. <br />The RFP specified on-site medical services 24 hours a day, in addition to a <br />doctor on call, for the inmates at the Santa Ana Jail. Medical staff is <br />required to conduct daily sick calls, dispense medication, as well as to <br />assist in the intake of incoming inmates to assess for <br />acceptability. Additional services such as dental care, <br />ophthalmology, OB/Gyn, psychiatric crisis intervention and <br />medical billing services are also required. <br />entrance <br />radiology, <br />emergency <br />Four vendors attended the mandatory pre-bid meeting and two submitted <br />proposals for consideration on July 18, 2007. Staff members of the Police <br />Department's Jail Bureau evaluated both proposals for completeness, <br />experience and expertise in correctional facilities, and demonstrated <br />ability to meet the requirements.
