A-2008-208 <br />Iss072208 <br />RESOLUTION N0.2008-455 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND <br />CHIEF OF POLICE TO EXECUTE A GRANT AWARD <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF <br />TRAFFIC SAFETY <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and <br />declares as fo{lows: <br />A. The Santa Ana Police Department has been selected to receive a grant <br />from the California Office of Traffic Safety, DUI Enforcement ~ and <br />Awareness Program, in the amount of $21fi,583.00. <br />B. Grant funding will allow the Police Department to fund programs to reduce <br />the number of alcohol involved crashes, including conducting DUI/Driver's <br />License checkpoints and DUI saturation patrols, and concentrating on <br />repeat DUI offenders on probation who continue to drive after having their <br />license suspended or revoked. <br />Section 2. The Cit Council authorizes the Ci Mana er and the Chief of <br />..
