Award a contract to Golden State Constructors, the lowest responsible <br />bidder, in accordance with unit bid prices in the estimated amount of <br />$42,213.60 for construction of the Plaza of the Sun Drainage <br />Improvements. <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $59,000. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Plaza of the Sun has experienced drainage problems near the north- <br />west entrance of the Ross Annex of City Hall (Exhibit 1). Over the years <br />the Plaza and the adjacent concrete walkway have settled in different <br />areas, resulting in severe ponding. This project provides for <br />construction of a new concrete walkway and drainage improvements in the <br />Plaza of the Sun. <br />The attached Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on July 2nd and July 7tn, <br />2008, and bids were opened on July 31, 2008. A summary of the bid <br />invitations mailed, the bids received, and the bid results follows. <br />Santa Ana Contractors receiving notices: 14 <br />Contractors requesting bidding documents: 10 <br />Bids received: 4 <br />Bids received from Santa Ana Contractors: 0 <br /> <br />23A-1 <br />
