This
program seeks to alleviate poor nutrition among the elderly, especially prevalent among those who live on a very
low income. Escalating rents, medical care costs and day-to-day expenses quickly erode the already limited
incomes of our Santa Ana elders. In addition to the meals, social isolation and the need for services is addressed,
all of which ultimately supports independence.
SeniorSery has expanded services at the Santa Ana and Southwest Senior Centers, to meet the needs of the
dominant and growing Latino population in Santa Ana. Authentic Latino meals are served throughout the month to
help address the needs and raise satisfaction of the participants. SeniorSery continues to provide a lunch
program at the Vietnamese Community Center, located at 1616 W. First Street in Santa Ana, which for many
years was the only site in Orange County to provide ethnic meals to this population. Vietnamese meals are
served to help address the cultural preferences of the growing Asian/Pacific Islander senior citizen population in
Santa Ana.
Community SeniorSery is the only senior nutrition provider in Santa Ana that runs on a donation only basis.
SeniorSery suggests a donation of $2.50 for a hot lunch at any of our three sites in Santa Ana. Under supervision
and guidance of our Registered Dietician, all nutrition needs are addressed. No provider in Santa Ana can match
our services.
Schedule of Performace
Estimate the number of ONLY unduplicated Santa Ana residents to be served by the funded program during the 12 -
month contract period per quarter.
