STAHL <br />MANAGER•SEDRETARY <br />Erma Keeler, City Clerk <br />City of Santa Ana, California <br />Dear Nadam: <br />I am today forwarding, under separate cover, the <br />ballots as received by me from the State Employees' Retirement <br />System, said ballots being the onPS to be used at the employee <br />election to be held June 15th on the election participating <br />in the State Employees' Retire.rrient Sys tem. <br />There are three groups of ballots, identical so far <br />as content is concerned but differing as to color, ene type <br />tc be used only by city firemen, aroth~r type to be used only <br />by city policemen, and the third type to be used by all other <br />employees. <br />It will be necessary for you to have submitted or <br />printed irl the a~nropriate place on the face of the ballot <br />tre phrase "City- Council" on the line marked "Legislative <br />Body" -and the phrase "City of Santa Ana" on the lire pro- <br />vided for the name of the subdivision. <br />The election should be conducted ir. the manner <br />provided in the resolution which P~!r. Gordon tells me trie City <br />Council adopted at its meeting of Monday, June ~-th. I believe <br />the resolution is self-explanatory. If you have any question <br />at all, I would appreciate it if you T~~ould call !ne here at <br />MIcr~i~an- 211, Station ?102, <br />So far as the number of ballots is concerned, there <br />should be fifty ballots for firemen, forty-eight ballots for <br />policemen, and one hundred and fifty-four ballots for• all other <br />employees. These r.umber•s are taken from tree number of employees <br />eligible for membership ae shown in the aetua rial report. Shoulc? <br />you need more ballots, please let me isnow as soon as possible. <br />At the suggestion of Mr. Gordon in Mr. Jacobs' office, <br />I am enclosing herewith a copy of a ea.lerdar which I have pre- <br />pa red indicating my idea as to tree necessary steps to be taken <br />and the dates T~rher. they must be taken. I are ser~dirg a copy of <br />this to Mr. Jacobs and to the City Employees' Association, on <br />whose behalf I am acting in this entire matter.
