Contract Award HVAC Units <br />(Spec. No. 08-055) <br />September 2, 2008 <br />Page 2 <br />The HVAC units are engineered to support data communication operations and <br />have been specifically configured to support the Police Department's <br />security camera system upgrade. The units are cost effective, low <br />maintenance, and manufactured locally, facilitating access to factory <br />service if necessary. Kaiser Sales is the designated manufacturer's <br />representative for the Southern California area. In order to enhance <br />protection and mitigation capabilities of the Santa Ana Police Department <br />building in the event of an act of terrorism, staff recommends Council <br />approval of the recommended action. <br />The notice inviting bids was posted on August 22, 2008, and bids were <br />solicited. A summary of the bid invitations and bid received is as <br />follows: <br />4 Invitations For Bid mailed <br />1 Bid received <br />Bid was received and opened on August 25, 2008.
