<br />RESOLUTION NO. CRA 2008-006 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT <br />AGENCY OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA ESTABLISHING <br />AUTHORITY OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO <br />EXECUTE CONTRACTS IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED <br />$25,000 <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA, AS FOllOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The Board of the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of <br />Santa Ana hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. The Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Santa Ana <br />(hereinafter referred to as the "Agency") is engaged in activities <br />necessary to execute and implement the Redevelopment Plan for <br />the Merged Redevelopment Project Area. <br /> <br />B. In order to implement the Redevelopment Plan and pursuant to <br />Resolution No. 86-57 dated November 18, 1986, the Agency granted <br />its Executive Director the authority to execute agreements in an <br />amount not to exceed $10,000. This was the same authority the City <br />Council of the City of Santa Ana granted its City Manager. <br /> <br />C. In November of 2006, the residents of the City of Santa Ana voted to <br />amend section 421 of the City's Charter to increase the City <br />Manager's authority to execute agreements, and further provided <br />that the City Manager must submit quarterly reports to the City <br />Council at a public meeting reporting on all such agreements. <br /> <br />D. At this time the City Manager's authority to execute agreements has <br />been capped by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana at $25,000. <br /> <br />E. It is appropriate for the Board of Directors of the Agency to grant the <br />Agency's Executive Director similar authority, also subject to the <br />limitation that the Executive Director submit quarterly reports to the <br />Board of Directors at a public meeting reporting on all such <br />agreements. <br /> <br />Section 2. Executive Director's Authority To Enter Into Agreements. <br /> <br />a. The Executive Director of the Agency is hereby authorized to <br />bind the Agency on contracts for an amount not to exceed $25,000 in a single <br />agreement. <br /> <br />Resolution No. eRA 2008-006 <br />Page 1 of2 <br />
