<br />t. -...-. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />'oJ' <br /> <br />"EXHIbIT A" <br /> <br />AJilEdDi'JENT TO CON'l'RACT bEr'i/EEN <br />TH~ BOARD OF ADtuNISTRATION <br />S'rATE El'1PLOYEES' RETIREliJEN'l' SIS'fEM <br /> <br />AllD <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />(Governing 30dy <br /> <br />OF 1'Hl!; <br /> <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />(NAjVJE OF PUBLIC AGENCY) <br /> <br />The Board of Administration, State Employees I Reti rement System, and the <br />CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF' SANTA ANA , <br />(Governing lOody) (Name of Public Agency) <br />hereinafter referred to as Agency, having entered into a contract under date of <br />November 25 , 19 46 , effective Jul! 1 , 19 47 , <br />which provides for the partTCTPa tion 0 l' said Agency n sai d Retiremen t-rrystem, <br />aGd said Contract beinS based on the Retirement Law exclusive of amendments <br />thereto which changed benefits and ages of retirement, said (ooard of Administra- <br />tion and said CITY COljNCIL hereby agree as follows: <br />(GovernL1g Eody) <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Paragraphs 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 shall be and are hereby stricken <br />from said Contract. <br /> <br />l'he following paragraphs shall be and are hereby added to said Contract: <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />Age 60 shall be the Hormal age for retirement for service, of <br />persons who are miscellaneous members because of employment by <br />Fublic Agency, that is, members other than Local Firemen, Local <br />Policemen or county Peace Officers, and one-sixtieth shall be <br />the fraction of final compensation, as defined in said Retire- <br />ment Law, to be provided for each year of service as a member <br />upon retirerrient at age 60, and the provisions of Section 21251.1 <br />of said Retirement Law, providine; for a t.:,uaranteed percentage of <br />said final compensation, shall apply. <br /> <br />Prior service benefits to mis.ce llaneous members employed by Public <br />Agency, that is, members other than Local Firemen, Local policemen, <br />or County Peace Offic ers, upon retirement for service, shall be <br />allowed only as a percBntase of the averae;e salary specified in <br />Section 21253 of said Retirement Law, for each year of such ser- <br />vice, anmd percentage shall be 100 per cent of the percentage <br />determined under sa~.d Section for tneage at retirement. <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />Age 22 shall be the minimum age for retirement for service, of <br />persons who are members because of employment by Public Agency <br />as Local Firemen, Local Policemen, or County Peace Offic ers and <br />the provisions of Section 212$2.4 of the State Employees' Retire- <br />ment Law, providing for a guaranteed percentage of final compensa- <br />tion for each year of current service as a member, shall apply to <br />such jrlembers. <br /> <br />7. <br /> <br />Benefits on account of prior service, that is, service credited <br />hereunder as rendered to Public Agency prior to the effective date <br />of pe.rticipation, to respective persons who are members because of <br />
