REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />NOVEMBER 17, 2008 <br />TITLE: <br />HISTORIC PROPERTY PRESERVATION <br />AGREEMENT NO. 2008-11 FOR THE <br />PROPERTY LOCATED AT 904 NORTH <br />OLIVE STREET.. <br />~ __ <br />i- <br />CIT MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 1S1 Readinc <br />^ Ordinance on 2"d Readin <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute the <br />attached agreement with Cindy Carcamo and Michael Mello for the st ucture <br />located at 904 North Olive Street, subject to non-substantive hanges <br />approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION ACTION <br />Recommended that the City Council authorize the City Manager and C erk of <br />the Council to execute the attached agreement with Cindy Carc mo and <br />Michael Mello for the structure located at 904 North Olive treet, <br />subject to non-substantive changes approved by the City Manager a d City <br />Attorney at its October 2, 2008 meeting by a vote of 5:0 (D'ckman, <br />O'Callaghan absent). <br />DISCUSSION <br />After the public hearing on October 2, 2008, the Historic Re ources <br />Commission reviewed the proposed Historic Property Preservation Ag Bement <br />(Mills Act Contract) and concluded that the resulting potential p operty <br />tax savings would encourage the owner to reinvest the tax savings in the <br />maintenance of their historic property, and would benefit both th owner <br />and the community (Exhibit A) Additionally, the agreement p events <br />inappropriate alterations. <br />25E-1 <br />
