REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />NOVEMBER 17, 2008 <br />TITLE: <br />AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT FOR <br />TEMPORARY ENGINEERING AND <br />TECFIIJICAL SUPPORT SERVICES <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 1S' Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2"~ Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />CITY <br />FILE NUMBER <br />~tECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute an <br />amendment to the consultant agreement with PDS Technical Services for <br />temporary engineering and technical support services in the amount of <br />$150,000 for a total agreement amount not to exceed $300,000 subject to <br />non-substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />In November 2005 the City Council approved an agreement with PDS Technical <br />Services for temporary engineering services. These services will augment <br />services provided by City staff and are required to complete the design of <br />the City's Capital Improvement projects due to funding deadlines. <br />PDS has been providing temporary staffing for several key positions in the <br />Public Works Agency. Staff recommends approval of an additional $150,000 <br />to assist staff with the completion of projects funded in the Capital <br />Improvement Program. <br />ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br />There is no environmental impact associated with this action. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />The proposed amendment will have a limit of $150,000 for a total amount of <br />25K-1 <br />
