The property, which abuts Santa Ana <br />High School, sits on top of the Walnut Street Reservoir that is owned <br />and operated by the City of Santa Ana. The original agreement granted <br />the School District authority to construct 11 tennis courts at the <br />site, free of charge, for the recreational use and enjoyment of the <br />high school. In exchange for the City paying the cost to install <br />lighting at the facility, the School District granted the City free use <br />of the tennis court facilities for its after-school recreational <br />programs. <br />As a continuation of the existing lease agreement, the City and the <br />School District are proposing an additional 10-year term with two 10- <br />year options for renewal. No money exchange is required as the <br />consideration provided is the enjoyment and usage of the property for <br />Santa Ana residents. In addition, the School District will hold the <br />City harmless from all liability or claims that may arise at the <br />property during the term of the~a~~=~nt . <br />
