Approve an appropriation adjustment recognizing $187,000 in the <br />Resources - California River Parkways revenue account (no. 161-01- <br />5373) and appropriating same to the State Resources Agency Grant <br />expenditure account (no. 161-273-6631) for the 17th Street Triangle <br />Trail Access Site project. <br />2. Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute the <br />attached agreement with the Orange County Flood Control District for <br />the lease of vacant parcel (AP NO. 001-011-20) for a 25-year term, <br />subject to non-substantive changes approved by the City Manager and <br />City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The City of Santa Ana Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency was <br />successful in receiving a $187,000 grant from the State of California <br />Resources Agency to develop a .3 acre, vacant parcel (AP No. 001-011-20) <br />into a trail access site. The property is known as the 17th Street <br />Triangle and is situated alongside the Santa Ana River Bike Trail off 17th <br />Street. <br />The 17th Street Triangle was one of ten "opportunity areas" identified in <br />the Santa Ana River Vision Plan that was adopted by the City Council in <br />2007 to address the open space and recreational needs of the community. <br />The project will enhance the site with native plants, supporting <br />irrigation, trailhead entry and interpretive signage, and mile markers. <br />20C-1
