REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />DECEMBER 1, 2008 <br />TITLE: <br />AGREEMENT FOR A COMPUTER AIDED <br />DISPATCH SYSTEM MAINTENANCE <br />r' <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />^ .As Recommended <br />^ As Amended <br />^ Ordinance on 1 S` Reading <br />^ Ordinance on 2"d Reading <br />^ Implementing Resolution <br />^ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute an <br />agreement with TriTech Software Systems for maintenance support to the <br />Fire Department's computer aided dispatch system in an amount not to <br />exceed $114,155, for a one year period, subject to non-substantive <br />changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Fire Department's Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system was upgraded <br />in September 2006. TriTech Software Systems is provider of this <br />service, and provides maintenance to their proprietary hardware, <br />software, and software interfaces. The system provides for the <br />dispatching of emergency vehicles and the transfer of data to mobile <br />data computers (MDC) located in these vehicles.
