CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE ON <br />DEVELOPMENT <br />Meeting Minutes <br />February 7, 2008 <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order at 12:15 p.m. Meeting relocated from Conference Room <br />831 to 229 in City Hall. <br />ATTENDANCE <br />The following Committee members were present: Miguel Pulido, Carlos Bustamante and <br />Vince Sarmiento <br />Staff present were: Dave Ream, City Manager; Steve Harding, Deputy City Manager for <br />Development Services; Jay Trevino, Executive Director Planning and Building Agency; Joe <br />Fletcher, City Rttorney; Karen Haluza, Planning Manager; Shelly Landry-Bayle, Housing <br />Division Manager; and Itzia Heredia, Senior Office Assistant. <br />AGENDA ITEM$ <br />1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES -DECEMBER 6, 2007 MEETING <br />Approved by a vote of 3:0. <br />(Taken out of agenda order) <br />4. DISCUSSION OF SANTA ANA RENAISSANCE SPECIFIC PLAN ZONING IN <br />INDUSTRIAL AREAS <br />Prior to any discussion about the Renaissance Specific Plan, Councilmember <br />Sarmiento excused himself from the room. <br />Mr. Ream and Mayor Pulido discussed the importance of the community's input into <br />the creation of the Renaissance Specific Plan. Mayor Pulido discussed the <br />possibility of creating an overlay zone for the industrial properties. Representatives <br />of the industrial property owners within the plan study area expressed their support <br />for an overlay zone for the industrial properties. <br />5. COUNTY OF ORANGE PRESENTATION ON POSSIBLE ACQUISITION OF <br />YMCA <br />A joint effort between the County of Orange Archives and Taller San Jose was <br />proposed to rehabilitate the existing YMCA building located on Broadway & Civic <br />Center to house the Orange County Archives, and the St. Josephs Workshop <br />meeting/training rooms.
