Which WIA population will the program recruit and serve? <br />25 -Older, Out of School Youth, ages 17-21 years <br />2. Indicate how many participants to be served. 25 youth, residents of Santa Ana <br />�. Describe how this program fits in with programs currently being offered <br />by your agency. <br />The focus of the Santa Ana WIB and Youth Council is to "enable youth, particularly <br />those most in need, to acquire the necessary skills to successfully transition into and <br />compete in the labor force and to further their education and training ". <br />CLAMA/ Project RYTMO's mission statement includes the enabling of youth <br />through educational and vocational methods utilizing music and the arts. <br />Project RYTMO will expose youth who demonstrate artistic potential, to a positive <br />professional environment where they can develop academic and workforce <br />preparation through: <br />• Occupational skills in music technology. <br />• Adult mentoring with knowledgeable volunteer mentors who have <br />backgrounds in the music industry. <br />• Valuable Work Experience/Job Shadowing/Internships in music technology - <br />related fields. <br />• Leadership Development: Participants who demonstrate leadership qualities <br />are encouraged to further develop their potential through a regular leadership <br />development curriculum and community participation through music and <br />technology. <br />• Life-enrichin skills kills such as goal setting, project planning, group interaction, <br />and disciplined behavior that will help prepare our participants for a future <br />career in the music industry or related technical careers. <br />• TutorinP: This service will utilize specialized RYTMO volunteer tutors with <br />unique instructional methods in music (such as Hip-Hop/Rap techniques and <br />rhyming) to help participants who require special tutoring support for school <br />assignments, improving reading/math skills, completion of GED/High School <br />diploma, and other related performance goal attainment as required through <br />the Santa Ana WIB. <br />
