RESOLUTION NO. 2009- <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA TO AMEND RESOLUTION NO. 82-110 TO ADD <br />TWO NEW FULL TIME CLASSIFICATION TITLES TO THE <br />CITY'S BASIC CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION <br />PLAN, AND TO AMEND THE CURRENT ANNUAL BUDGET TO <br />REALLOCATE FOUR POSITIONS IN THE PARKS, <br />RECREATION AND COMMUNITY SERVICES AGENCY. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1: The City Council hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br />A. Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City of Santa Ana <br />requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a position <br />classification and pay plan subject to civil service rules and regulations <br />and the approval of the City Council. <br />B. On August 2, 1982, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution <br />No. 82-110, revising and re-establishing the Basic Classification and <br />Compensation Plan for Officers and Employees of the City of Santa Ana. <br />C. On June 17, 2008, the City Council passed and adopted Ordinance No. <br />NS-2768, which established the City's Annual Budget, authorized position <br />allocations for Fiscal Year 2008-2009, and set forth the requirement that <br />alterations in the allocation of authorized positions be reviewed and <br />approved by the City Council. <br />D. In order to monitor and oversee the performance of park maintenance <br />contractors to ensure efficient and effective services, the Executive <br />Director of the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency <br />proposes to create two (2) full time classifications, and to reallocate four <br />(4) positions in the current Annual Budget. <br />Section 2: That Section 3 of Resolution No. 82-110, as amended, is hereby <br />further amended by adding, in alphabetical sequence, the following classification titles <br />at the monthly six-step salary rate range and effective date indicated: <br />6-Step Salary Rate (SRR) Effective 2/02/09 <br />Monthly Salary <br />Classification Title SRR Minimum-Maximum <br />Park Maintenance Inspector I 556 $3144 - $4014* <br />Park Maintenance Inspector II 600 $3896 - $4978* <br />'` Base salary will be increased by approx. four percent (4%) effective 7/1/09 per agreement <br />between City Council and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). <br />55B-3 <br />
