Our organization Community Mission Services has several program tha
will assist the family and if we can introduce them to the Sports program we know that they will migrate to the
others. We have a summer tutoring program our Reading and Math Lab to keep our your sharp and ready for the
next school year. We also prepare the youth to take the Stanford 9 in the spring and SAT's. We have programs foi
adults as well and we are hoping that as their children get involved and are helped then they will see and training
that we provide. We have partnered with Santa Ana College to create a computer lab with has been in operation fol
over 5 years. We also provide counseling for youth regarding college. We have been working with Pepperdine
University in adminstering the Pre -SAT and SAT.
Sports League Association is just apart of a big program. Second Baptist Church / Community Mission Services
sees the need in our community to assist the youth in several areas. We also wanted to find a way the would draw
the youth in our area in order to help in others. We choice sports as out tool to get them in. Once they are in we will
evaluate them in several areas and then begin to provide the services needed. Example: Our cost for registration
for our basketball program is only $25.00, if we see a family that are in a hardship situation we will wavie that fee,
but would as the parent to volunteer in some way (team mom, games day volunteer, snack volunteer, phone tree,
etc.). After we evaluate the child, if we see they are unsocial we will encourge them by putting them in a leadership
position which has proven to bring them out of their shell. If we see they are have diffeculties in school we
encourage them to join our Tutoring program. Teenager that are looking for summer employment we send them to
the Y.E.S. program (youth employment service). Finally we want to do our part in assisting in the fight for childhood
obesity. We plan to have a Health and Nurition program. The goal of our program is to be a one -stop -shop and
have fun doing it.
Schedule of Performace
Estimate the number of ONLY unduplicated Santa Ana residents to be served by the funded program during the 12-
month contract period per quarter.
